If you run a telehealth practice and want a press release, write one short, factual announcement about something that really happened, and tie every health claim to a named source. Publishers can hold, request changes to, or refuse content, especially in restricted or high-scrutiny categories, so the claims matter more than the prose. Marketing By Kevin sells one of the services discussed here, so keep that in mind as you read.

What is a telehealth press release?
Medicare describes telehealth as health services you get from a provider located somewhere else, using audio and video communications technology, or audio-only in some cases, like through your phone or a computer (Medicare telehealth coverage page). A telehealth press release is the same kind of document as any other: a factual company announcement about a real event. My terms say a standard release must be a factual company announcement, not an advertisement or a general-interest sales article. Real news events include a launch, an expansion, a partnership, an appointment, a report or a funding event.
Why would a telehealth business send a press release?
I treat a release as news with a job. It should deliver four results: findability (one clear search question), credibility (a live publisher URL people can inspect and share), route (the distribution path that fits the story) and proof (accepted copy, URLs, dates, pickups and available analytics).
A release does not replace your own site. Publish a useful page that explains the event and lets the right reader act, then treat the wire URL as a supplement to that page.
How do you write a telehealth press release?
Work through these steps before you choose a newswire.
- Start with a real news event. The headline states a real, timely event, and the company is named near the top.
- Write in an objective, news-style tone. Leave out direct-address sales language outside an approved quotation, inflated claims, exclamation marks and all-caps emphasis.
- Check every fact, number and quote. Each one must be accurate, supportable and authorized, and the release must be original.
- Add a valid media contact. Include a working media-contact email. Some routes also ask for a contact name, a phone number, executive authorization or supporting documents.
- Get written approval of the exact copy. Keep a record of who approved what. Our guide to what a press release approval workflow should record shows what to save.
For the layout of each part, our press release template page covers format and common mistakes.
How long should a press release be, and what format does it use?
Our release production package writes a 500 to 700 word release with a headline, a subhead and company boilerplate. That is a practical length for a telehealth announcement. The publisher has final authority over formatting, labeling, links and media, so check the current rules before you approve the copy. For ACCESS Newswire, review its content guidelines first, because they can change.
What can a telehealth press release claim?
This is where most health releases run into trouble. Keep every claim to what a named source says, and name the source in the release.
| Claim you might want to make | What to check before you write it |
|---|---|
| Patients are just as satisfied with telehealth as with in-person care | A 2024 pediatric study found no significant difference in top-box satisfaction. It covers one academic center's pediatric patients from August 2020 to February 2022, so keep the wording to that. |
| Medicare covers our telehealth visits | Medicare says it covers telehealth services you can get from anywhere in the U.S., including your home, through December 31, 2027. Check how your own services are billed before you write that patients are covered. |
| Our patients get better results | Use a named study or your own data with its method and population. Publishers can refuse unsupported claims. |
The 2024 study in Telemedicine Journal and e-Health shows how far a claim can go. It used Press Ganey survey data from UC Davis Health, collected between August 2020 and February 2022, and compared 6,093 responses from pediatric patients: 1,157 telehealth and 4,936 in-person. It found no significant difference in the odds of a top-box satisfaction score. For whether respondents would recommend the provider, the odds ratio for telehealth was 1.22 (95% CI 0.97 to 1.52; p = 0.09) (2024 pediatric telehealth satisfaction study). A release can cite that finding. It cannot say telehealth patients are more satisfied, and it should not stretch one pediatric study at one center to every telehealth service.
Can distribution make my release rank, get picked up or bring in patients?
No one can promise that. Here is who controls what:
| Who controls it | What they control |
|---|---|
| You | Truthful facts, authorization, sources, quote approval, media rights, timely responses and final copy approval |
| Marketing By Kevin | Search planning, release production when purchased, formatting, route preparation, submission management, revisions and the publication record |
| Publishers and platforms | Acceptance, labels, presentation, downstream pickup, retention, indexing, rankings and audience response |
Nobody controls pickup, rankings, indexing, backlinks, traffic, leads, sales or journalist coverage. Paid placement also has rules. Google's spam policies say that paid or advertorial links passing ranking credit can violate them, so paid placement must be labeled and never sold as SEO authority.
What you do get is a documented result: the accepted release, the primary URL, the completion date, pickup links and available analytics. Read press release distribution report actually prove before you count any of it as a result.
What happens if the publisher says no?
It depends on who wrote the copy. If you supply the copy and it is declined, you can revise and resubmit within the active project window, or request a full refund of the distribution charge. For an eligible MBK-produced release, we make reasonable compliant corrections and resubmit at no extra production charge. If acceptance still cannot be obtained on the purchased route, the complete production-and-distribution amount is refunded. That protection does not cover the customer-caused issues listed in Section 8 of our press release service terms, such as false or incomplete intake, missing authorization or unsupported facts. Our terms do not promise acceptance: no unsupported claim is guaranteed acceptance. Here is the catch: once a release is accepted and published, you can't get the distribution charge back. If the primary publisher URL is removed within 12 months, we resubmit the accepted release once through the same or a comparable route. That protection does not cover lost rankings or removed third-party pickups.
How much does a telehealth press release cost?
The table below shows general-business distribution package prices only. Whether a telehealth practice is priced as general business or as claim-sensitive health work is decided by our free eligibility review, which sets the category and price before you pay. Prices as of September 23, 2026; check the checkout for today's price.
| Package (general-business distribution) | Distribution only | Distribution with MBK release writing | Publisher route |
|---|---|---|---|
| Signature News | $495 | $890 | ACCESS Newswire + Newswire |
| Global Authority | $995 | $1,390 | GlobeNewswire |
| Complete Market | $1,295 | $1,690 | Both routes, one announcement |
Adding MBK release production to a distribution package costs $395 for general business (for example, $495 + $395 = $890 for Signature News). A three-release Authority Stack is $4,950 with release production, and a five-release Market Presence Stack is $7,950. Each release in a stack needs its own real news event.
Health and wellness announcements that need claim-sensitive handling may fall under our evidence-led release workflow, which our services page lists as starting at $2,000. That is a different offer from the claim-sensitive Rare Find Advertorial, which starts at $2,500. The free eligibility review confirms whether your news qualifies before you pay. MBK may recommend a different verified route. Claim-sensitive health work starts at $2,000 for the evidence-led workflow, and the claim-sensitive Rare Find Advertorial starts at $2,500.
Paid long-form content is a different product. Rare Find Advertorial starts at $1,495 with writing included. The claim-sensitive Rare Find Advertorial starts at $2,500 (verified September 23, 2026).
If your news is real and you already have a publisher-ready release, I'd point you to EIN Presswire's $149 Basic plan as a sensible self-service choice. It lists distribution, editorial review and a report in its scope (competitor price checked September 25, 2026).
Is a press release free if I send it myself?
You do not need an agency to send your own announcement. A paid newswire route is a separate purchase. Before you start, confirm the approved facts, a relevant destination and a way to measure what happens afterward.
For a local event, make a short list of local newsrooms, calendars, trade associations and partners that cover that kind of news. Pitch each one individually, and only where the story fits that reporter's beat. Keep a simple sheet with outlet, contact, beat, why the news matters to that audience, send date, response and published link. A wire submission is not a personal pitch to a reporter, so do not send the same generic message to everyone.
What is the press release process?
- Submit your announcement. We run a free eligibility review and confirm the news qualifies before you pay anything.
- Choose your release path. Bring publisher-ready copy, or add release production for $395.
- Distribute professionally. The release goes through ACCESS Newswire or GlobeNewswire, and the publisher reviews and accepts it.
- Document the result. You receive live URLs, the publication record and available analytics. 12-month deletion protection is included.
Service timing starts only after payment verification, complete intake, eligibility clearance and receipt of every required source and permission. Requested dates are targets until we confirm the route and production window in writing. For scheduling, read press release timing.
How do I know whether the release worked?
Review the outcome after 7 and 30 days. Compare your own site's referral visits and qualified inquiries with the goal you set before publishing. Keep publisher-reported views separate from visits to your site and from sales. Use what you learn to pick the next real announcement, not to repeat the same story on more wires.
What is the difference between a press release and an article?
A press release is a company's own factual announcement, sent through a newswire or pitched directly to a reporter. A syndicated copy of your release is not the same as a reporter-written article. Paid long-form content is a third option. Rare Find Advertorial is paid, labeled commercial content with its own route terms. It is not a way to place promotional copy as an ordinary news release.
