GlobeNewswire Pricing: Cost, Process, and What to Check

October 6, 2026 By Kevin Mahoney Leave a Comment

GlobeNewswire pricing is usually a custom quote, but a practical budget for one release is about $350 at the entry level and roughly $900 to $1,200 for a broader North American release. If you have real company news and need a managed GlobeNewswire route, our Global Authority package is $995 for distribution or $1,390 with release production. Get every price and inclusion in writing before you approve the release.

GlobeNewswire is a real commercial newswire service. It is useful when you need a documented public announcement for a launch, funding event, partnership, executive appointment, or investor-facing update. It distributes an approved release; it does not control whether a reporter covers it, where a downstream site displays it, or how Google ranks it.

How much does GlobeNewswire cost?

GlobeNewswire does not publish a public rate card, so the final number depends on your distribution geography, word count, and add-ons. Pressonify’s June 2026 pricing review places a basic U.S./Canada release at about $350 and a North America Standard release at $900 to $1,200. ITQlick also lists GlobeNewswire as starting at $500 per new release. Treat those as planning ballparks, not a quote.

Route or cost item Published ballpark What to confirm
Basic U.S./Canada release About $350 Included word count and destinations
North America Standard $900–$1,200 Geography, reporting, and pickup reporting
Extra 100 words $140–$175 How the provider counts headlines, boilerplate, and contacts
Logo or image Logo from $100; image about $200 Whether multimedia is necessary for this announcement
Video Up to $1,200 Placement and reporting scope

These figures were reported in June 2026 by Pressonify; check the checkout or your written quote for today’s price. A 600-word release with a logo and image was reported there at about $930. That is why a short, factual release can be easier to budget than a long product story with several media files.

What are you actually buying?

You are buying access to a commercial distribution route, publisher review, a primary release URL, and available reporting. GlobeNewswire’s current U.S. distribution information lists Yahoo Finance among its destinations, but a particular downstream pickup is not promised. Review the provider’s Product Page before choosing the route.

For example, a Chicago manufacturer announcing a verified expansion may use a wire release to give customers, suppliers, and investors one clear public record of the news. The business should still publish a useful announcement page on its own site and contact the few local or trade reporters who genuinely cover that industry.

Is GlobeNewswire credible for a business announcement?

Yes. GlobeNewswire has operated as a press-release distribution service since 1998 and is part of Notified, according to its company profile. The important decision is not whether a wire URL exists; it is whether your announcement is real, timely, accurate, and suited to the people you need to reach.

A wire release is paid commercial distribution, not independent newsroom coverage or an endorsement. Google’s helpful-content guidance emphasizes useful, reliable, people-first material. Google’s spam policies also explain why paid links should not be sold as ranking credit. We plan the announcement, route, and destination page; publishers, participating sites, and search engines control acceptance, display, pickup, indexing, and ranking.

How does GlobeNewswire compare with PR Newswire and Business Wire?

Provider Useful planning figure Budget question
GlobeNewswire About $350 entry; $900–$1,200 broader North America What geography, words, and media are in the quote?
PR Newswire $575 national starting figure reported by Axia PR in 2023 Does your quote include membership or targeted distribution?
Business Wire $760 for 400 U.S. national words reported by PressPilot in September 2026 What will extra words, attachments, and reporting add?

PressPilot reports that Business Wire’s published buyer figures work out to $760 for up to 400 words, plus $195 for each additional 100 words. Its guide also reports a $425 first-attachment figure, though it notes differing reports about whether that fee is bundled on some circuits. Read our Business Wire pricing guide if Business Wire is on your shortlist.

Axia PR reported in 2023 that PR Newswire’s basic national package started at $575, with targeted distribution costing more. That is older than the GlobeNewswire estimates above, so ask PR Newswire for a current written quote rather than treating it as a 2026 price. Our PR Newswire pricing guide gives you a practical comparison checklist.

How the GlobeNewswire process works

  1. Define the actual news. Start with a verifiable event: a location opening, partnership, funding milestone, appointment, report, or launch.
  2. Set one reader and one destination. Decide who should care and where that person should go after reading.
  3. Keep the release factual and compact. Confirm names, dates, quotes, claims, rights, and media files before submission.
  4. Request a written quote. Ask for the included word count, geographic circuit, multimedia charges, reporting, editorial review process, timing, and cancellation terms.
  5. Approve the final copy. The publisher has final authority over acceptance, formatting, links, labels, and distribution.
  6. Save the publication record. Keep the accepted copy, primary URL, publication date, reported pickups, and any available analytics.

When does a managed GlobeNewswire route make sense?

It can make sense when the announcement has a bigger financial, partnership, expansion, or stakeholder job than a basic local update. Our Global Authority route uses GlobeNewswire for an eligible announcement and includes managed submission, publisher communication, a primary URL, and available campaign analytics or a publication record. See our GlobeNewswire distribution service when you are ready to match a real announcement to the route.

For a standard local-business announcement, lower-cost distribution or direct outreach may fit better. A new roofing office in Naperville, for example, may get more value from a useful local landing page, direct outreach to relevant local publications, and a focused release than from buying every possible geographic add-on.

Before you order GlobeNewswire distribution

  • Ask for the total price, including word overages, logo, images, video, geography, and reporting.
  • Ask which primary publication URL and analytics you receive after acceptance.
  • Confirm that your announcement fits GlobeNewswire’s editorial rules before you pay.
  • Make sure your company controls the facts, quote approval, media rights, and destination page.
  • Do not buy a wire route solely for a promised outlet, backlink, ranking, traffic number, or sales result.

Disclosure: We offer paid press-release distribution services, including a managed GlobeNewswire route. That commercial relationship does not change the price comparisons or route limits explained here.
